BrightStrand International Ltd. a strategic channel partner for the Stratus ultra-high availability range of servers. The Stratus range of fault-tolerant, Intel based servers provide the highest level of system availability, compared to alternatives such as a clustering. Creating a successful high availability environment using clustering requires a combination of careful planning, best-of-breed hardware components, mission critical level service contracts and disciplined testing and change management processes on the part of IT staff. Why create a complex highly available clustered environment, when you can implement a fault-tolerant server giving greater availability, easier configuration, simplified management all for a lower or comparable cost. Recent press releases from Stratus announce a reduction in planned downtime for patching, upgrading mission critical Windows® environments. Stratus Online Software Upgrade Technology is Fault-Tolerant Computing Breakthrough W Series family - Microsoft® Windows® Only the Stratus ftServer W Series family, designed for 99.999% and greater uptime, brings you the flexibility of affordable continuous availability for any business setting. Powered by Intel® XeonTM processors, Stratus' industry-standard, fault-tolerant servers eliminate the operational complexity and high costs inherent in other high-availability approaches such as clusters. Right out of the box, the entire ftServer line brings the industry's highest levels of uptime protection to Microsoft® Windows® environments T Series family - Fault-Tolerant Linux® T Series systems combine Intel® XeonTM processors and a fault-tolerant Linux® operating system with Stratus' proven, fault-tolerant server architecture that delivers greater than 99.999% uptime right out of the box. The result is an open, affordable, no-compromise Continuous Processing® server. W Series Continuous Processing Technology
Lockstep Technology — Lockstep
technology uses replicated, fault-tolerant hardware components that process
the same instructions at the same time. In the event of a component
malfunction, the partner component acts as an active spare that continues
normal operation and averts system downtime. The system also detects and
corrects transient hardware errors that could cause software failures if
left unchecked. Failsafe Software — Failsafe software works in concert with lockstep technology to preventmany software errors from escalating into outages. Unlike typical servers or clusters, ftServer W Series hardware and software handles most errors transparently, shielding the operating system, middleware, and application software. Another advantage of the Stratus approach is that it constantly protects and maintains in-memory data.
ActiveService Architecture — An unmatched combination of ActiveService capabilities enables built-in serviceability not offered by other vendors. Stratus W Series systems constantly monitor their own operation. When a fault is detected, the server correctly isolates the condition and automatically opens a call that tells the Stratus support centre exactly what action to take.
